Frequently Asked Questions

1. Do I have to run to participate in the event?

No! Both runners and walkers alike are welcome to participate in the event. If you plan on walking for the entire duration of the race, it is recommended that you do the 5KM option.

2. Are strollers and dogs allowed?

Due to the nature of the trails, strollers and dogs are not permitted in the race, but they are welcome to spectate!

3. What is a “trail race”

A trail race takes place on unpaved hiking trails through the woods that involve hills, roots and some rocks. The terrain tends to be uneven and can be narrow at times. Proper trail footwear is recommended.

4. Is the race timed?

Yes, the race will be chipped timed. Your time will be recorded by a chip located on your race bib. This means that your time will start when you cross the start line and will stop when you cross the finish line. If you are competing for 1st, 2nd, or 3rd place overall your standings will be based on gun time, not chipped time. All other results will be based on chip time. Your race bib must be pinned to the front of your shirt and visible at all times.

5. Can I run with headphones?

It is recommended that you do not run with headphones so that you can be aware of your surroundings at all times. If you do run with headphones, please make sure you keep one out at all times.

6. Will there be water on the course?

Yes, we will have water stations available along the route every 3-5KM.

7. Where are the washrooms located?

Indoor washrooms are located near the start/finish line inside of the main chalet near guest services. There will be no washrooms along the race route.

8. Will the race happen if it rains?

Yes, the race will happen rain or shine, we will only cancel in the case of extreme weather, such as thunderstorms.

9. What is trail etiquette?

  • Stick to the right hand side at all times so other runners can pass you. There may also be a few sections where runner traffic is flowing in both directions.
  • Do not litter on the trails! Please do your part to help keep our trails clean.
  • Encourage others and have fun!
