ski + Snowboard beginner to intermediate program | L1,l2
Give your little one a fun and exciting introduction to skiing or snowboarding! This one-hour session is designed for our youngest riders, with plenty of sliding and beginner-friendly activities to build confidence, coordination and a love for the slopes. Riders start on the flats of our beginner area before progressing to the magic carpet when they’re ready, with support from our friendly Snow School instructors and parent involvement encouraged. For added convenience, drop-off is available at the beginner hill, where a Snow School supervisor will greet you and take care of sign-in. Perfect for Never-Evers and Level 1–2 riders.

ski + Snowboard advanced program | L3+
Designed for Level 3+ skiers and snowboarders ready to build their skills, confidence and independence on the slopes! Midweek sessions offer a shorter after-school format, while weekend programs provide more time on snow to learn and progress. Riders will be assessed during the first week to ensure they’re placed with a compatible group. Participants must be able to put on their own equipment, have experience using the chairlift and confidently ski or snowboard green runs independently. The season wraps up with a special team event to celebrate their progress and new friendships!

What you Need to Know
Students should meet outside the main chalet beside the Après Patio stage. Signs will indicate gathering points for each program (i.e. Snowflakes, High Flyers, etc.). Please wait at the appropriate sign where an instructor will meet you.
Please arrive 15 minutes prior to the program start time to ensure you can locate the appropriate group and meet your instructor.
If you arrive more than 15 minutes late, please report to the Lessons desk at guest services and they will radio a supervisor who can connect you with your group.
Lift tickets are not included in the program price. Please make sure your child has a valid lift ticket or seasons pass when they begin their program. Students will not be permitted on the lifts until they have a valid pass/ticket. Parents will be called to come back to get their child and attain a ticket if they do not have one. No time will be made up for forgotten passes/tickets.
All lesson participants must have a season pass or lift ticket valid during the timeslot of their lesson. Example: a 5 Day | 7 Night season pass is not valid during Saturday morning lessons. We highly recommend purchasing all 8 lift tickets at once. Ask our team about this option when booking 8-week programs.
Please note, Horseshoe Valley Resort uses RFID cards for lift tickets & season passes.

Within each program, students will have varied abilities and will therefore be grouped with others at a similar ability level. The first week will be used for assessing the students and making sure everyone is in the correct group. If a student is in a group too hard for them or that is below their abilities, they will be moved accordingly to ensure they get the most out of their program. Ability levels are organized by colour (see chart below).

Helmets are mandatory for students of all ages in our Snow School programs.
Students should come prepared for their ski or snowboard lesson with skis/snowboard, ski boots/snowboard boots, ski poles (if applicable) and a helmet. Students should wear proper snowpants, a winter jacket, gloves or mittens, and other close-fitting garments as necessary for the conditions. Dangling scarves or other loose garments should not be worn as they pose a risk for the student and other adventurers.
A minimum 5 participants are required for programs to run for the season.
All prices are subject to applicable HST and resort fees.
A parent/guardian must remain on site during lessons for those ages 12 or under.
