The Trail Showdown Race Prep Clinic is designed for riders who want to improve their confidence, refine their skills, and gain experience on the race trail before race day.

Each clinic focuses on the specific trail being used for an upcoming Trail Showdown race and provides riders with the opportunity to learn the trail, practice key features, receive coaching feedback, and develop race strategies in a supportive group environment.

Participants also receive race registration for the corresponding Trail Showdown event and race-day coaching support prior to the start of the race.

Who This Program Is For

The Trail Showdown Race Prep Clinic is designed for riders with previous mountain biking experience who are looking to improve their skills and prepare for race day.

Riders must be comfortable riding independently and confidently descending Horseshoe’s green downhill trails. Previous race experience is not required.


What’s Included

  • 2-hour coaching session focused on the upcoming race trail (10:00 AM – 12:00 PM)
  • Trail Showdown race registration for corresponding date
  • Pre-race coaching and warm-up support on race day (1hr prior to race)
  • Maximum 5:1 rider-to-instructor ratio

Coaching includes: trail inspection, line choice, cornering, braking, feature analysis, and race strategy.


Important Information

  • Open to all ages
  • Lift access is required and not included
  • Rental equipment is not included
  • Participants must provide their own bike and protective equipment
  • Clinics operate rain or shine unless otherwise communicated

 

Bike Lesson FAQ

Mandatory Equipment:
  • Mountain bike in good working condition (front suspension required, full suspension is recommended)
  • Full face helmet
  • Recommended Equipment:

  • Elbow and knee pads
  • Water bottle or hydration pack
  • Gloves
  • Glasses or goggles
  • Mountain bikes, full face helmets and knee/elbow pads are available to rent.

    Yes, you will require a Lift Ticket or Season Pass.
    If you are picking up a Lift Ticket and/or rental equipment we recommend arriving 30-60 minutes prior to your lesson start time. Look for the Lesson flags between the Copeland Express Chairlift and the Bike Shop & Rental Centre, your instructor will meet you there. Please arrive at the flags ready to ride.
    24 hours advanced notice is required.

    Cancellation Policy

    Lessons will run regardless of the weather. Downhill Mountain Bike Lessons are non-refundable but can be changed to a different date during the 2026 season if the request is made at least 24 hours in advance. If you need to reschedule, please speak directly to Guest Services at ext. 1344. After 24 hours there is NO rescheduling available for any reason.
